Impact for Hire #4: Jenelle Shapiro

Jenelle Shapiro is an outside the box sustainability strategist who is as passionate about raising her two daughters as she is giving back through her impact career. 

Most recently, Jenelle was a Sustainability Program Manager at Meta, where she worked on everything from circularity, Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions reduction, decarbonization risk management and project management.

After Meta overhired during the pandemic and shed thousands of jobs earlier this year, Jenelle has found herself in between impact jobs.

“My ideal next role would be in consulting, research, analysis, or communications. I can also do marketing and administration,” says Jenelle. 

When not working, Jenelle loves to go on adventures to new little towns and beaches with her kids, skiing in the winter and most recently got into rock climbing. She also is a history nerd, and loves a good work of historical fiction.

Jenelle is open to remote roles, or physical roles near South Orange County, where she is now based.
